The HorseTech Conferences are international meeting points for innovative minds seeking to utilise technologies to advance the health & welfare of horses and how we can better understand the noble animal that not only carried, farmed and fought with our ancestors but also exerted enormous selection pressures on how they selected one another. Delegates are those who appreciate we wouldn’t be here without horses and how their timeless power is key to helping us develop a positive technological future.
The conference series began in 2017 at the historic Royal Veterinary College London on the very spot where the Veterinary Profession was founded in 1789 with a technological breakthrough – the first equine autopsy. The spectacle drew interest from across the world with several HorseTech firsts (including the use of X-rays) because this wasn’t an ordinary horse but the unbeatable Eclipse racehorse (a horse bred with astrological perfection by mathematical geniuses that was responsible for inspiring HorseTech innovations that today most of us couldn’t imagine the world without eg. the wheeled Horse box).
As part of our commitment to sharing best practice all of our conferences are livestreamed free of charge thanks to the support of generous sponsors and you can watch and share videos from the Conferences and Tours by clicking on the links above.
If you want to take a deep dive into the world of HorseTech opportunities we recommend you read the collaboratively produced HorseTech Market Report – a copy of which you can download here (again for free thanks again to our generous sponsors).
HorseTech: the ultimate Teaching Hack of our modern times
Horses are considered to be great teachers because they offer us invaluable lessons in self-awareness, patience and accountability. The sensitivity of a horse makes it the most powerful mirror for human emotions and intentions and the honest feedback a horse can provide in a moment based on their assement of your body language and energy levels can be invaluable for your personal growth.
New sensory technologies are gifting us incredible ways to listen to and learn from horses and these are helping us understand and validate technologies that are capable of solving the biggest challenges facing mankind like how we can best optimise our environments, health, longevity and fertility.
A HorseTech education is invaluble becuase it combines very long term multigenerational goals (trying to produce the optimal environment to support horses & equestrians) with the ability to think about and test modern technologies..
I’s said that you don’t truly know a subject until you’ve taught it and when the subject to be taught is life itself horses naturally make our best teachers as they are the animal that has applied the most selection pressures on our ancestors.
The HorseTech Conference was established by riders who code and coders who ride. We’re not here for buzzwords, we’re here to connect the smartest Equestrians, vets, trainers, breeders, riders, startups, astrologers, scientists, techies, historians and businesses to rewrite what’s possible and build the future of equine performance, welfare together with the world’s healthiest environments and best technologies.
Join us. The starting gate is open!
Who organises the HorseTech Conference and why?
The conferences and market report are produced by David Doherty from a farm in rural Ireland (Land of the Horse & Home of the Thoroughbred).
David studied Medicine (the human/sickcare version that’s funded by pharmaceutical corporations) at University College London while living in the Veterinary Clinic of one of the world’s leading racing Greyhound Surgeons. David founded a medical technology business, produced and taught the first technology course at Ireland’s leading Medical School and has consulted to the world’s leading tech and medical brands. David has 40 years of experience using powerful medical technologies with elite racing animals.
David has an endless fascination with the opportunity for computers to advance how Horses and Humans communicate as he believes these are key to leveraging the judgement of the world’s most valuable and scrutinised animals to advance our understanding of the healing benefits of electromagnetics and nature.
